Udzungwa is one of the few true undisturbed and peculiar forested land in the world. Boasting a biologically diverse forest, various plants species from a tiny African trees with 30 meters high, the beautiful mountain scenery combines two indigenous species of primates,The mountains harbors other animals like elephants, leopards, lions African hunting dos and abundance of forest bird species. One of the most popular activities in the park is a hike to sanje waterfalls, the park is accessible throughout the year but the wetter months tend to be more slippery. The dry season starts from June to October.

Day 1 :Dar es salaam to Udzungwa

Our adventure will begin in the bustling city of Dar es Salaam and journey for 7 hours to Udzungwa Mountains. Enjoy the fantastic view of the country side as you drive along the Morogoro town where lunch will be offered. After lunch hour we will continue with the journey which will end at Udzungwa falls lodge where dinner will be offered and will spend the night

Day 2:Sanje waterfalls in the Udzungwa Mountains

After a very early breakfast we will leave our accommodation around early and start our hike, although climbing will be influenced by your pace it usually takes 4 hours to hike the most recommended Sanje route. on our way you may spot some primates species whereby two of them can only be found in the park which are sanjemangabey(cercocebussanjei) and iringa red colobus (procobusgordonorum), keep in mind that Udzungwa is one of the four world biodiversity hotspots so expect to see various endemic plant species, birds, amphibians and reptiles. After arrival at Sanje waterfall which plunges 170 meters through a misty spray into a forested valley below we will set up our camp and enjoy lunch in the bush area, after lunch we’ll keep exploring the surrounding area and opt to swim in the waterfalls pools. Dinner will be offered at the campsite.

Day 3:Udzungwa Mountains to Dar es salaam

After breakfast, descend from the scenic Sanje Waterfalls and take in the final views of Udzungwa’s lush landscapes before heading to Sanje village. From here, begin your comfortable transfer back to Dar es Salaam with a professional driver, including short stops along the way for relaxation. This final day is well-organized to ensure a smooth and safe return, giving you time to reflect on your unforgettable Udzungwa Mountains adventure.
